Simon Kennedy: Reformed Protestant Politics: Past and Present
This lecture will explore the key ideas of Reformed Protestant political thought, including two kingdoms theology, sphere sovereignty, and Reformed realism. We will also examine how distinctively Reformed political thinking can help us meet new challenges for public and political theology today.
Simon P. Kennedy is a Visiting Fellow at the Mathias Corvinus Collegium in Budapest, a Research Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities at the University of Queensland, and an External Fellow of the Centre for Public, International and Comparative Law at the University of Queensland Law School. He also teaches at Queensland Theological College and the Lachlan Macquarie Institute. His first book, published in 2022 with Edinburgh University Press, is titled Reforming the Law of Nature, and explores the relationship between early Reformed natural law thought and secularisation. His forthcoming book on Christian worldview and education, Reimagining Worldview, will be published with Lexham Press at the end of 2023.
